This self-guided cycling tour takes you on small side roads to beautiful corners of Montenegro´s Mediterranean coastline.
Explore in your own pace the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Bay of Kotor, the biggest lake in the Balkans, Lake Skadar, and stunning viewpoints all along your way.
You stay overnight in small cosy hotels or B&B. Your luggage is transferred from place to place or you can also choose to rent panniers and bags.
We provide you with information where to taste culinary delights along your way, so you get refreshed and in touch with locals.
Itinerary
1. Day
Arrival and transfer to the old royal capital of Montenegro, the town of Cetinje. After
an introduction to the tour and adjusting your bikes you have time to stroll around in town.
Overnight in Cetinje.

2. Day
Beautiful cycling tour to the biggest lake of the Balkans, Lake Skadar. Have a rest in Rijeka Crnojevica before you continue to local honey farm. While tasting local bee products listen about local traditional beliefs and superstitions related to beekeeping. Enjoy in honey products such as honey with candied fruits within the ambience of 300 years old house. Continue to Virpazar, your next overnight place. 40 km

3. Day
Cycle the shoreline of Lake Skadar. This one of the most scenic sections, Monastery islands, villages, chestnut grooves and all the time you have great views towards the lake and the Albanian Alps. Take a pause at local chestnut farm. Chestnuts products, goat cheese and seasonal vegetables are part of the menu. Here local culture of living made a big influence on gastronomy and recipes. Your host, a family will show you how they keep these traditions alive. A final descent takes you to the city of Ulcinj. 70 km (if this section is too long we can provide vehicle support)

4. Day
Cycle from Ulcinj to Old Bar. Olive groves, and a 2000 year old olive tree are on your way. Our today gastronomic story is related to cheese traditionally prepared in olive oil. While tasting learn about old techniques of its preparing. Enjoy in traditionally prepared cheese in olive oil Upon arrival discover the ruins of Old Bar. 45 km

5. Day
Transfer ( 45 min) from Bar along the busy coastal road to Budva. Visit the old town of Budva, before you cycle cross scenic villages towards Kotor. 35 km

6. Day
Today´s tour takes you to the peninsula of Lustica at the entrance of the Bay of Kotor. Enjoy great views to the fortification islands, the bay and the Adriatic sea. Have a taste of olive oil produced in local olive farm. Take a walk through amazing olive yard and visit an attraction of great historic and ethnographic value – well preserved an ancient olive mill made by stone and step back in time when olives were milled by man power. After take the chance to have swim at one of the beaches. Return to Kotor. 50 km

7. Day
Explore the Bay of Kotor, which is a gentle round trip along the beautiful coastline of the bay. Along your way you have the chance to visit several cultural sites eg. like
Perast, great restaurants and picturesque villages. 38 km

8. Day
Transfer to the airport Tivat/Podgorica/Dubrovnik

Day 1 : We meet the group at Kayseri/Nevsehir Airports and transfer them to their hotel. Dinner and overnight in Urgup.

Day 2 : Off time in the morning after breakfast to prepare the bikes and a short meeting about the program. Today we ride to Ortahisar via Uzengi Stream. After a short village tour and having lunch, we ride back to Urgup via vineyards and on arrival to Urgup; we bike to Urgup fortress to have the panoramic view of the town. Dinner and overnight in Urgup.
Total distance: 30 km. (25 km. off road)

Day 3 : We cycle through Damsa stream to Sarihan Caravanserai and then through Red River to Avanos. After a lunch break in Avanos we head Cavusin and then Love Valley. After biking up the pleasant hill from Love Valley to Uchisar. Dinner and overnight at a boutique hotel in Uchisar.
Total distance: 45 km. (40 km. off road)

Day 4 : After the breakfast, we cycle to Kavak village first and then Mazikoy. We have picnic (lunch boxes) at Mazikoy. We bike through the potato fields until Devretbasi village and then through a very nice valley to Baskoy. Finally we reach Soganli, which is one of the earliest settlements of Cappadocia. From here, we are transferred back to Uchisar. Dinner and overnight at a boutique hotel in Uchisar.
Total distance: 55 km. (40 km. off road)

Day 5 : After breakfast, we are transferred to Soganli, from where we start riding to Derinkuyu via Orhanli village. After visiting the underground city of Derinkuyu and having lunch at a local restaurant, we keep cycling to Komurcu village via Kiledere and Yazihoyuk villages. Today’s ride finishes in Komurcu, where we rendezvous with our vehicle, and transfer to Guzelyurt. Dinner and overnight at a boutique hotel in Guzelyurt.
Total distance: 60 km. (50 km. off road)

Day 6 : Today we’ll enjoy a day off in Guzelyurt with a casual bike ride around town. Advanced riders will have the opportunity to go on a longer bike ride at their leisure. Those who would like some free time to go exploring can stroll though the town’s lively streets past homes carved into rocks, take a walk through Monastery Valley and visit the cave churches, go fishing at a nearby lake, or just relax at our hotel and read a book. Dinner and overnight at a boutique hotel in Guzelyurt.
Total distance: 20 km. (15 km. off road)

Day 7 : We cycle to Selime via Alanyurt. Selime is the village where we go in to Ihlara canyon. We cycle to Belisirma (a smart village in the middle of the valley) and have lunch there. After lunch we hike or bike in the second part of the canyon up to Ihlara village. For those who want to walk, we can take their bikes on the supporting vehicle. After Ihlara we have a 35 km ride to Kitreli. This ride is going over Kucuk Hasan Mountain from a passage. We do a long uphill ride about 20 km and then a serious downhill. The beginning of the uphill is soft but when we get close to the mountain it is more challenging. We are picked up with two vehicles (one for the bikes and one for us) in Ulukisla village and transferred to Urgup. Dinner and overnight in Urgup.
Total distance: 65 km. (60 km. off road)

Day 8 : On our last day, we ride towards the most popular sites of Cappadocia. We first ride through Pancarlik to Ortahisar and then to the famous Goreme Open Air Museum, to visit its rock-cut churches. Riding through Rose Valley leads us to Cavusin. After riding through the streets of Cavusin we cycle to Pasabag and then Zelve. After having lunch in Zelve, we visit its open air museum and head on to Devrent Valley and then Urgup. Dinner and overnight in Urgup.
Total distance: 40 km. (30 km. off road)

Day 9 : Transfer to Kayseri/Nevsehir Airports for flights back home.
